jodyh86
my brother and his partner are having two kittens off me they are unsure of which sex to have ie two males or a female and a male,as i have never had a male cat/kitten before i dunno what there temperaments are like.either way they have accepted whichever sex they have they will have to have them neutered/spayed.a friend has sed that 2 brothers from the same litter are a better option then a male and a female.please help as im unsure what to advise him on.also im considering having a male out of the litter and im unsure what he will be like with my 2 older female cats or if they will tolerate him. any advice would be very much appreciated:)
medusa
It really doesn't matter- as long as they're neutered or spayed and the cats get on together. Older cats are more likely to accept a new kitten than an older cat (but then again my lot are so used to having other cats about that they're really friendly to older cats too, and so are most cats that live in a multi-cat household). It's really hard to tell which cats are going to be independent, and which lap cats, clingy, vocal or quiet later in life when they're kittens, so it's always going to be some sort of lottery. Just make the decision based on two that get on with each other and who you get on with right now- and worry about whether they're boys or girls as an afterthought. Ginger_Kitty
We got two lovely boy kittens as they had both bonded with each other (despite not being littermates) Then we discovered that one boy kitten erm... wasn't... and they still get on (most of the time!!!) i don't think there's necessarily a male temperament or a female one, cats are cats and i think they are ALL different... its pot luck really
kittencapes
I have never found any major differences, it might just be my particular cats but the little boy has always been more silly and recklass than the little girl who tends to be more independant! Girls have sharp claws.. and act like little princesses!

dkhank
As said it doesnt really matter - as long as spayed or for the boys ' had their little op'. Males are prone to rome around and girls stop at home!! ( so they say) BUT, they are all different! The lady across my road can not keep her lady cats in!! Honestly, rain or shine they are out and about. I have had cats and the boys stayed in and the girls stayed out!! They all have their own personalities ( after saying that I do appear seem to have acquired a male cat - that wont go home!!!) They are all different. panky4
We had three female cats at one time two were sisters and one was from another litter. They got on fine but Gizzy was always a little left out by the other two.
