We carved our first pumpkins..

Recommended Posts

:P Oh, I thought you had a fabulous way of preserving your pumpkin.

I read a website recently where they had trialed various options.

In the states, they actually market a pumpkin preservative spray.

I can't remember all, but they were things like:

the commercial spray

vegetable oil

pva glue

hairspray

NOTHING

NOTHING was just as good as anything else!

Just try and keep it in a stable, dryish atmosphere.

Very nicely done. I usually draw the design on with a felt tip then start cutting.

I'm starting ours in 2 mins, gonna scrape out enough flesh to roast up & mash in with some spuds to go with some nice steak & kiddley I got from Crawshaws in Meadowhall

Here is my effort I'm rather proud of. 2 hours well spent in my view.

I used WD40 to help preserve it, it was carved on Friday and is still fine.

For more pumpkin ideas I found this site http://www.extremepumpkins.com/
