SBS are great! we used them and they put each box in the correct rooms (bit of a control freak when moving) the guys had to return to old property to collect some plants we wanted to bring with us, they called another gang and got them to bring them, all in all we had 4 removal men for the price of 2. great service will be using them again when the house sells.

Terrible they ripped our leather sofa and dinted two of the white goods we had a hell of a time getting any form of compensation.

We also used Specialised Movers - they were great. Fantastic service, everything arrived safely and the two lads that did the job were really friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend them to anyone.

Oh god - thanks so much for the info! I was very unsure about them as I've had no paperwork or mention of liability etc so have just cancelled now!

 

 

Your very welcome, they also lost one box which contained all my 21st birthday presents and cards. Took them 6 weeks to find it.

 

If you try Lindways... ask for Mick hes brilliant. And they are really quick and efficient!

Processional movers will all deliver a good service, but the hourly rate is a product we don’t promote as a company 95% of our moves have a fixed price, and if things go to plan that is the price you can budget for, i.e. if it needs extra men to achieve the seamless move that is what you do!. Would you catch a meter taxi to Heathrow or would you ask a price? Only the same

Hi,

Whoever you use, don't fall for the man and van service, we just did and should have known better. Always ask for a lorry unless you only have a few items, the smaller vans mean the men who do your move have to squash thngs in, we ended up with damage to some of our items. Also, he ended up doind 6 trips!! Took all day. When we mentioned claiming, he told us that the insurance he mentioned was just for his van!! We now live in Dawlish and have just used this joker to move across town. When we lived in Sheffield we used a local company with vans & lorries and when they visited to quote, they brought the insurance paperwork with them along with all their terms and conditions. We should have asked for the same this time. I'm sorry to rant but I'm so upset:(

Sorry you had a bad experience 'Clubam' but there are 2 things to rememer when moving house.

1. All your worldly goods are going to be trusted to the company you pick, make sure you have an address, land line/freephone number, and ask any questions BEFORE you move.

2. If you pay peanuts........you get Monkeys! If the firm is really cheap, think! How can they afford to pay wages,VAT,insurance,advertise,maintain a vehicle?
