Tubby, you really have lost the plot. If you are gonna correct me on stuff, don't do it by making stuff up yourself. Once again your wife obviously kept the wrong baby at home this morning. No one is gonna believe that I am supposed to e-mail you 30 times because the BBC has a policy of blocking persistent e-mailers, so don't try to insult the inteligence of readers of this thread like you insult and ridicule your listeners. As for touching myself, why would I need to do that when I have a nice lady in Harley to do that for me.

Love Adam.:D

Do you present on Radio Sheffield.

I,m not a big listener of that station but had the pleasure of talking to Antonio last week, she presents a nice program.

Cycleracer sometimes you worry me! You've been a member of this forum since April and you've never read the interviews forum?!

For your reference, Toby was interviewed by the forum here:

Toby is a top bloke and I personaly enjoy his show, it's a laugh even though he does talk too fast

The clowns on we are the champions last week were hilarious.

What ever people think about him I'm sure he doesn't decide the policies of the station as in it wasn't his fault Cappo got the boot.

It's all gravy.

Cheers Upholder, glad you like the show.

It does sometimes get slightly infuriating when people make stuff up, that's all. I love Cappo, and was very upset that he left the station, but it certainly wasn't the Draconian plot that some folk would have us believe happen. It's like that "the BBC block mass emailers" rubbish. No one blocks anything to my show, yet because someone half heard something once about something or other, they're prepared to repeat it as a fact.

It is, as you quite rightly point out, all gravy.

Toby

I always enjoyed Tony Capstick on the radio. And he was the first person to interview me live on the radio when he did the mid-morning show (I think it was - it was along time ago). It's a shame he went - although his presence was a little intermittent if he was doing some filming for the "Old Codgers in Holmfirth" show or something else exciting.

But every cloud has a silver lining. I think Toby Foster has really livened up Radio Sheffield. I think they have realised that not all their listeners are nearly 90, and that they have to cater for a slightly younger audience!! It's just a shame that I am working most days and can't listen every day. The odd listen whilst I am driving round is always a bit of a treat. Keep it up Toby!

Adam.

Was who on his show recently?

If you mean me - I wasn't!

Although it was Toby's mention of the Forum on his show that tempted me to have a look here. Ta Toby.

Have to agree there! Toby is a breath of fresh air to those of not about to go to the great phone-in in the sky.

It's about time that they put the Champagne Socialist Rony Robinson out to grass too. He's got so self important the last couple of years and his boring phone-in has me heading for Radio 5 just so I don't have to hear...

"ello Rony - it's me, Eric, I've just come out of hospital 'cos I'm 82 now - do you remember that chat we 'ad 4 years ago on the number 12 about 'ow we went tadpole collecting when we wer' kids? Young 'un's today dont know they're born"

It's true though about kids not going tadpoling these days innit?

I do think that Radio Sheffield like any organisation has it's political shenanigans. Unfortunately they are done in the public gaze.

IMHO Rony seems to be omnipotent there. The immovable one. Everard Wotsit eventually managed to ditch having to share presenting on the breakfast show, which is now the Everard Davy show. (It's now virtually a woman free zone isn't it?)

Cappo appeared to be nastily bundled out. I remember around the early 1990's there was another guy who just vanished from air, can't remember his name but he was at Wembley in 1991 interviewing Owls fans live on air. (Anyone remember him?)

It's all about the oxygen of fame, why hundreds will queue up for auditions for some humiliating reality TV programme.

If you are not "on air" you are nowhere. After "fame" where else can you go?

Yet there must be times when media folk wake up in the middle of the night (unless they're presenting "Up all night") and question what all their intrigues and media tantrums contribute to society as a whole.

We give them their pedestals from which some of them then get unceremoniously pushed.
