Sheffield lap-dancing club

Recommended Posts

Guest Guest

i'm very keen for the lap-dancing club to open in sheffield :D

most large cities have casions, strip clubs etc. and i think that is sheffield gets one then it will help raise our profile as a city. the police have allowed hookers to hang around mappin for years now and no-one seems to mind about that, so why all the fuss about this club!?!?

I think Spearmint Rhino will bring down the tone of Sheffield. At chucking out time we will have lots of sexually frustrated men leaving the area looking for relief. Women are right to fear an increase in sexual assaults. Other towns like Blackpool have succeeded in preventing Spearmint Rhino from opening. The protest on Saturday from 7pm outside the new club in Brown Street will be the first stage of preventing them succeeding in Sheffield.

Do people protest outside social clubs when its packed full of women shouting at a stripper??? No, they dont. And is there any actual evidence that sex attacks are more frequent around these clubs??? If you are really offended at the thought of grown men looking at naked women, then, do as I will, DON'T GO!

Why is women dancing in a club worse than allowing prostitutes to walk around the city centre? Is it a matter of "what you can't see doesn't hurt you?"

I read this in today's Star:

Sheffield Council says Spearmint Rhino has fallen foul of licensing rules by altering Brown Street's layout and submitting the plans late.

The opening has been postponed - I think the council are getting cold feet about letting it open, can't wait to see them backtrack out of this one!

I am not offended at people of either sex enjoying the pleasures of the body- but Spearmint Rhino is part of a global operation that exploit women and treat them like pocessions. Other buisinesses in the Cultural Industry Quarter have said they will move out if Global Pimp moves in. The way they have advertised themselves shows they are simply about degrading women. I am not being a spoil sport-I know that the best sexual pleasure you can have is from a faithful relationship where both partners treat each other with respect, not as mere sex toys.

Why are so many people opposed to Spearmin Rhino? To be honest I don't really give a toss about it (excuse the pun) and I don't see why anyone else should. I know many females who share this view too, so don't call me sexist.

As an elderly world traveller - (working), I have seen women exploited in many ways.

This seems a pretty civilized way to me. the women have choice, and so do the customers

Haven't you all noticed Sheffield already has a lapdancing club in the shape of the "Dancing Dollar"? If you haven't, it's obviously not had much effect on it's punters' behaviour, has it?

Where is this place! Also, did everyone know there are several large brothels in Sheffield? The one I know about is near Bramwall Lane.

It's amazing the things you don't know about sheffield...

I dont see a problem with this type of club.

The girls who work in them are usually well payed and most enjoy the work, they are not forced to work there like some prostitutes are forced to walk the streets to supply money to some drug crazed pimp, the clubs themselves are well run, clean and not seedy. I have been 2 one, not my scene but I went with some colleagues on a night out and it was more a bit of fun and somewhere to go after the pub had shut.
