feargal   21 #13 Posted October 26, 2006 I don't want to have to bring up the pork scratchings incident again Which part of a pig is it's "scratchings"? Similarly, pepperami - "it's a bit of an animal", but which bit?
 Share this content via...

feargal   21 #17 Posted October 26, 2006 any veggies going to the meal? if so, you should be boycotting it methinks.  Only a sick person would eat the damn stuff - its immoral. They don't force feed it to you when you go in, as far as I know. There's a lot I don't like about the 'meat industry' in general, but I wouldn't avoid going to a place that serves it. It's a matter of personal choice.
 Share this content via...
Nelly   10 #18 Posted October 26, 2006 Any right thinking person should have a problem with traditionaly produced foie gras tbh ... but it's not the restaurant's fault. If people stopped eating it, they wouldn't serve it ...  Unfortunately to stay in business, places have to stock what customers want. The customer is always right after all  It only seems to be the very high end restaurants who serve Foie Gras, with chef's who have more than enough ability to avoid it if they want to. Its the restaurant's responsibility to not serve it - customers go to such restaurants to be led by the menu, not dictate what's on it.  If KFC were serving Foie Gras, it would have been banned ages ago.  Is that what the protests were about? Did that question get answered?
 Share this content via...
TwoFour   10 #19 Posted October 26, 2006 They are clearly morons who should just not bother if they don't like it.  or just people expressing an opinion and asking people to think about what they are eating...
 Share this content via...

Meaks   11 #21 Posted October 26, 2006 I suspect people are capable of making their own decisions when deciding what they will and won't eat and what restaurants they care to patronise.  If they were protesting outside of any restaurant I was going to, I would order it on purpose.  The Blue Room should make a promotion out of it - half price offer on Fois Gras when protests are taking place.  If they have so much free time on their hands you'd think they'd do something more constructive than mither people about fat ducks.
