Mella
Just left the Crucible and there's been a fire in Victoria Hall, quite a bad one by the looks of things as the street was covered in debris and the building was swarming with firemen who were using ladders to get to the upper storey. Anyone know anything?

Mella
No, it's a Methodist(?) Chuch at the end of Chapel Walk. I don't think anyone lives in it.

muddycoffee
I think so, isn't it one in the Devonshire Quarter? No this is about Victoria hall, a large building built by the methodists, just opposite the crucible theatre and skirting chapel walk. It has a large concert room and lots of meeting rooms. I understand they have just gained/applied for planning permission for a new canopy to replace the horrible 1970s one.
Thunzi
I should clarify, it's not Victoria Halls of Residence. That's good at least. I think those halls are really full so a fire in there could have been disastrous.
