DAVE123
Hope the lion goes bonkers one night and craps on everything(child coming out) My eleven yr old daughter reckons it's OK for kids up to about 8. What a tragedy. The original museum was elegant and full of interest for me as an adult. Looks like a Trade Fair stand. Exhibits reduced by 3/4. Guest
There's another thread on the new museum somewhere, with the posters there saying more or less the same thing. I'm still going to reserve judgement until I see it myself, but my heart's sinking further by the day .
DAVE123
If the original was an empty building, then the results are fantastic. The original was a great building. Full of ceramics, paintings, ancient artifacts, current art exhibitions, very idiosyncratic and chicish cafe, working art studio. Dog ****. gnomi
i went yesterday with my boys and we all loved it,that saying,i will definately go back when the kids are at school and its a little quieter. I for one think it is better than it was before-it still has the artefacts that it used to have, along with new exhibits. Just because it has been made more child friendly(which can only be a good thing)does not mean it has lost what it used to have. As an adult,i enjoyed the interactive exhibits just as much as the kids did.Much more interesting that a miserable, dusty, lifeless museum. Oh,and to the OP-maybe you should go yourself before passing judgement-and my 13 yr old son thought it was great
Damon
Oh,and to the OP-maybe you should go yourself before passing judgement-and my 13 yr old son thought it was great I think the original poster was commenting on his visit to the museum. Apologies if I'm wrong.
bagger
I think the museum is fantastic. I reckon it's a plus that all members of the family can get something out of it. At the moment it's full of kids as it's half term. No where is good when it's full of kids:hihi: and I have two of my own. I took my three year old last week when it was pretty much empty and we had a great time. But you can't please all the people all the time I suppose. gnomi
I think the original poster was commenting on his visit to the museum. Apologies if I'm wrong. I thought it was his daughter who went?
Damon
You may be right, but I assumed both he and his daughter had been. I didn't think his 11 year old daughter would have described it as "looking like a Trade Fair stand" - though she may be very precocious!
DAVE123
Of course I went. Not daft enough to comment on something I've not seen.
