Also, there could be a resources section with foody websites and an area stating where you can buy specialist foods like Syro-phonoecian hookah leaves (or summat?)

Beans and pulses are excellent stuff aren't they? I love chickpeas and haricot beans...and red split lentils and young tender broad beans with the skin off with a bit of olive oil and lemon juice...I'm getting hungry...:)

Ive often thought it would be a good idea,Lizzie,as I ve often got nice recipies from ordinary posts.I also think a gardening part would do well.Im interested in both subjects, but do respect the people, who arent interested in those things.Good idea anyway,Lizzie.

Hmm, good point Strix re veggie desserts, but Rose Elliott in Guardian Weekend has twice presented recipes that were not in that category. Rhubarb crumble...? I can however understand vegan desserts.
Rose Elliot of Bean Book fame?

Dunno Strix, I'll check. Think she's the lady who partners Ruth Gray at the Riverside Café.

Yeah, I know! But I guess that is one.

Strix was referring to the use of animal gelatine in things like lemon mousse etc. Veggie alternatives are available, such as agar jelly, for example. Vegetarians would not want to eat animal gelatine.

I have a great recipe for courgette/zucchini cake from the Silver Palate cookbook. It's awesome
