Amyrach
:help: I have been renting my caravan to butlins employees since 26/8/06.on the 7th of october the security man on the site rung me and said that one of the lads has been arrested for breaking into a cat parked at the side of my caravan and can they evict him so we said yes.i spoke to him on the following monday because he owed me 300.00 in rent money. when we went down on the 11th they promised to meet us ,as we arrived at our caravan they had trashed it,fag ends all over, food what was thrown everywhere general state of cesspit. i contacted him about the **** state he had left my caravan in and he told me to f**k off not getting the money,we have now found out they have pinched the dvd player but cannot get them done for theft has their prints will be all over the caravan as they were living there. i have contacted butlins and they are not interested. i know some of you are gonna say should have got a contract written out i know that now!!!!! i have been told i could get a small claims court on them but would probably cost me more than 300.00 obvious choice would be to have their kneecaps blown off for satisfaction but i dont like violance. any advice please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2437_SNT
You should still report the theft and they can be arrested on suspicion of the theft, due to the fact that they were the only other people to have access to the caravan at the time. if nothing else the scum can be locked up for their troubles. Bilge
Yes, you should have had a written contract so that you can safeguard the rights of both you and your tenants and everyone knows where they stand. You feel rotten now, but it may be best to put it all down to experience and draw a line now, then at least all the grief is over and you can move on. Although the tenants sound like awful people, you should remember they do have rights - and evicting them without any notice maybe wasn't wise. flashbang
I can't give you any advice, but I am really sorry this has happened, I know exactly how you are feeling. The same thing happened to my sisters van a couple of years ago. The dirty scumbags wrecked the van, and left human waste all over the beds and bathroom. We had to replace everything. Its no good anyone saying what you should/shouldn't have done, its too late for that. Hope someone can give you some much needed advice. Take care.
