matt186 Â Â 10 #1 Posted October 22, 2006 Hi Guys, Â I was wondering if anyone could recommend a place that does a good job at removing scatches. I accidently went crazy with a sponge leaving loads of scratches on my new car. They are not too deep so I think they could possibly be sorted out. Â Any recommendations would be great
 Share this content via...

Ginner   10 #6 Posted October 22, 2006 T Cut wont damage it.... You've got to be joking mate. T-cut is one step away from using a scouring pad.  Take it to a reputable bodyshop. They'll let you know if the scratches can be buffed out. And while you're there, ask 'em if they ever use T-cut...
 Share this content via...

martss   10 #8 Posted October 22, 2006 I'm not joking, I've used T Cut loads of times and never had any problems with it. If the scratches are only light and are in the clear lacquer coat, T Cut, in my experience will get rid of them.
 Share this content via...
Strix   11 #9 Posted October 22, 2006 T-cut only gets rid of scratches by removing the material they were in in the first place  You don't use T-cut on a new car as removing the laquer will invalidate your anti-corrosion warranty.  I'd try a good clear wax on it first, then seek professional help if it looks no better
 Share this content via...
Grandad.Malky   11 #10 Posted October 22, 2006 If we are talking about swirl marks and light scuffs I would recommend, T cut then a coloured polish then a quality wax, plenty of elbow grease.  If we are talking about anything deeper then you will need a provisional job. hockeybear   10 #11 Posted October 22, 2006 I think theres a mobile scratch repairer especially for this type of job, I can't remmeber the name but I'm sure its a national franchise, try googling you might have some luck  If its Chips away you're thinking of, I know it is a franchise and so I can't call them all but you can still see every scratch they have repaired on my car. Rather than T.Cut I prefer Autoglym cutting polish, and then a good coat of wax. If its good enough for Aston Martin........ Dave..
