scottishdude
Chelsea won 2 titles doing so...... or are you quick to forget that? Anyways, Everton was 2-0 up, didn't need to do anything and played the game out. Nothing to do with us playing better Can't figure where you got lone striker from Chelsea. Seem to remember Duff, Guidjohnson and Crespo playing alongside Drogba in those seasons at some point. As for Everton being 2 goals up and not needing to do anything is rubbish. They didn't just sit back for the second half, Blades played against them better and contained them more.In 1st half Blades had chances but Hulse can only do so much on his own. Look at how Arsenal took Reading apart playing an attacking game with players up front passing to each other. They didn't sit back in 2nd half with a 2 goal cushion. same as Reading didn't give up when they were 2 goals behind against 'Boro at start of season. All I'm saying is that Neil should play with 2 up front from kick off as they are capable of being an attacking side and winning games.

Duff played wing and Crespo and Drogba never started together. Next....

I dont quite understand why he starts with strikers from lower leagues, clearly they wont match the likes of Everton/Arsenal/Chelsea. Start the game 4-4-2 with Webber and Hulse, then swap it around after that. It showed in the Boro match, Warnock puts some subs on for a final burst, and we end up winning 2-1. If it works and makes sense why not do it? Its only my opinion, but i think im coming from the same direction as you Scottishdude

Arsenal played with one striker (van persie was behind) and Arsenal also play with one striker primarily. The game with the blades was that we would not get back in to it due to being down to 10 men, and already 2-0 down. I'd like to think that it is more of a 4-3-3, but your right last year we played with a lone striker up front. The only time Drogba and Crespo played together was usually in the last 15 mins of a match when one was brought on as sub.
Robbie Loving
I'd like to think that it is more of a 4-3-3, I see it more of a 4-5-1 that turns in to a 4-3-3 once attacking. It serves Chelsea well, so why change that. Anyways back to the point, all i was stating is that someteams play with one striker and are very effective that way. Arsenal and Chelsea prime examples. scottishdude
Le-rosbif has already covered this one for me. Arsenal played with one striker (van persie was behind) and Arsenal also play with one striker primarily. So how did Van Persie cross the ball back from the by-line for Henry to score if he was behind Henry. I suppose Fabregas stayed behind Heny all game as well. Maybe you're getting muddled with Barachelo having to stay behind Schummacher a few seasons ago.
