hutch_uk
The other day a window cleaner banged on the door for 5 minutes wanting payment for a couple of cleans despite never asking him for his services. I'm sure he's never cleaned them but his actions make me question his honesty. knew a great window cleaner called Jim in the city centre, a down to earth and lovely man. Just a shame they're not all like that. I'm worried he'll try and take financial advantage of a family I know who emigrated here recently. To clue them up what's the going rate for a window clean these days. Any one else had similar problems with the honesty of window cleaners???? lyndix
£2.50 sounds about right, but if you havn`t asked him to do them then don`t pay it!

If I'm out when the window cleaner calls he always leaves a card through the letter box to say he's been. I can usually tell he has then.

This sounds like an old fashioned protection racket type scam. You should not pay for something you never requested, you should inform the police. My window cleaner is honest, but one who comes to a house across my road, never touches the bedroom windows(although the lady pays him to do so) He doesnt know I can see him.Ive told the lady in question, but she doesnt seem bothered. bluesandtwos
we had one when we first moved, but he got very pricy (£5.50) and only knows how to clean round windows properly (forget corners). So Just do them myself now.
