YES I ADMIT I'M STUPID:loopy: :loopy: :loopy: :loopy:

Here is my story of how I got conned sorry if it's long

Me and my boyfriend went down a couple of Saturday's ago his mum had given me £50 for a TV. When we got down there I realised it was a con ( it was on the Real Hussle BBC3 a week before) but the curiosity got the better of me I really thought I was going to get something. The man was really clever with how he worded stuff he gave my boyfriend a free electric razor then he wanted to see everyone put £5 in the air we were then given a poker chip which we had to put in the air if we wanted a present. Anyway we got a cheap crappy watch for it. He then put an XBox, Nokia N90 a laptop, DVD player, camcorder and digital camera in a pile and said who would give him £60 for it we all put our hands in the air he choose one person and told one of his goons to wrap it up for him. Obviously the guy who won was in on it as no one else got an offer like that. He then wanted to see everyone put £60 in the air my boyfriend did and not wanting to feel left out I used his mums £50 and £10 of my own money. Next he bought out a camera (looked as though it was early 90s) an MP3 player and a mens and womens watch, he then went round the room asking people what they wanted my boyfriend said the camera I said the MP3 player. He took the money off us gave each of us what we'd asked for then we basically got ushered out by his goons. The goons were cacking themselves by the end, the man was really horrible he had a hammer and kept smashing it on a desk and telling people it was ok he wasn't going to smash anyones face in.

As soon as I walked outside I felt sick I'd just blown his mums money on a crappy MP3 player my boyfriend was ******* himself. I can't believe I let myself get fooled by it I mean I'd watched the exact same thing on The Real Hussle on BBC3.

It was really intimidating when I was standing there watching him he was shouting being rude to people half of me wanted to walk out but was scared incase they wouldn't let me or what.

I've learned my lesson now though hopefully this thread will make people more aware and not to go. It was situated across from Streetwise near the more so DONT GO.

Please don't reply stating how stupid I am I think I already know how stupid it was :D

The mystery deepens...I'll interpret it thus:

The 'scam' is actually a set-up by MI5 to covertly procure the biometric data of extremely stupid people (by scanning them), which is then presented in Brussels as a representative sample of the people of Sheffield so that the MEPs feel sorry for anyone investing in the city, such as the fabulous Deutsche Bank who have plans to turn the Moor into a massive, über-efficient mall selling a plethora of goods with a disconcertingly Germanocentric feel (Hasselhoff albums, currywurst, hard-hardcore porn etc.), and who also happen to own MI5! IT'S HAPPENING PEOPLE!!

Yes and No at the beginning he says would anyone offer me a fiver for whats in this box it could be full of gifts or could be empty. The one of the goons undercover says he will buy whats in the box he turns it upside down and theres electrical good in. At the end of the con he asks again everyone puts their hands up he empties the box and nothings in. In my case he said to a girl in the front "now I did warn you that the box might be empty if you want you can take it to the nearest police station and tell them that you bought this box off me for a fiver what do you think they'd say to you? Silly girl"

The other stuff you get isn't wrapped up they make out that the bigger stuff is coming

I see, it is shocking the police won't do anything, maybe report it to watchdog? It seems to target people who probably can't afford a lot and are prepared to gamble in the hope of getting something they could not normally afford...

When me and boyfriend went there were mainly people from the Congo, Philippians and Asia. A lot of people were going to the bank and coming back. It makes me feel quite sick that it happened to me and how gullible I was/can be.

No-one can slate anyone else for falling for these scams, as the majority who know they are a scam have been suckered by them in the past just like me & are now wise to it. If you've never experienced this type of scam it is so easy to fall for it & the innocent find it so hard to believe that it is possible for people to get away with it.
