How stupid is this - traffic rant!!

Recommended Posts

hi

Rant alert

I cannot believe people can be so stupid

Well companies can be so stupid

I also cant believe this was ever sanctioned by the police

Yesterday I was driving down Brocco Bank at about 430pm

A busy time of day

The traffic was worse than normal

In fact it was the worst I have ever ever known

It turns out an enormous industrial crane was travelling from Endcliffe Vale Road then down to Hunters Bar

No wonder the roads were gridlocked - this thing was enormous and even had a fleet of support vans to help it along with yellow flashing lights

I cant get over how the company decided to move this monster at peak hour traffic

that is just selfish and stupid

I also cant believe they can move something this big without informing the police and that they agreed to it as well

After a good nights sleep I calmed down

Then I drove up Brocco Bank at peak hour at 0750 today

guess what??

The same damn crane was making the return journey

I just dont beleive it

There must be a law against it

Why move something this big in rush hour - twice?

Selfish and stupid

And as for the police letting them do this - no comment

Unbelievable, yet sadly totally believable!

I see similar things on my way through town many mornings. Mainly around the building sites for all the new student flats. Big delivery vehicles blocking lanes in peak traffic. Its mental!!

Why cant they force them to do these things after 10.00am ??

car drivers in peak time slow buses down, why cant they drive at a different time or not at all.

the delivery vehicles you talk about are needed as you cant really deliver a crane on a bus, nor move house by bus, you can get into town/ out of town by bus though

 and where do you think they go after you see them?

and when do you expect the crane driver to actually do the job of craning

See the bigger picture and not what's directly infront of your bonnet

Did you stop to consider how much you were contributing to the gridlock situation yourself? NO!!

I bet the crane driver was well chuffed with the amount of traffic hindering his progress

I actually wondered why they couldnt move it at 4am or 11pm

would you be impressed if you were asked to turn up for work just to move a company vehicle, then come back again to actually do your job a few hours later? :loopy:

oh, and you think the escort team wouldn't cost more then? and perhaps moving one of these in the dark isn't such a bright idea either

well guess the crane driver could have moved it at 10 pm at night, then worked through the night, disturbing all the locals, before driving it back at 6 in the morning, just to avoid inconveniencing any car drivers. Hes got a job to do just like everyone else, rush hour removals just cant be helped sometimes.

Don't forget that cranes don't work on their own - they are a support vehicle for the entire construction crew, so if the crane is working, it needs a driver and a banksman, then the collection of people who are loading it and receiving that load in it's final location, which then needs to be fixed in place.....

Need I go on? ;)
