extaxman
Many, many years ago the Revenue used to accept cards with postage stamps stuck on them as a form of payment. They could only be used for certain cases chiefly war widows paying tax on their war widows pensions. They had not only lost their husbands but their pensions were taxed too. Don't know how or if the Revenue got them cashed, I didn't care much as I was so digusted with the whole business.
Heyesey
If you use all the correct numbers and details etc can you write a cheque on a fish? You can write a cheque on anything. Whether the recipients will accept it is a whole other matter, but technically, it's the writing that is legally valid, not the paper it's written on. As for stamps being currency, they've never been legal tender, but there's no reason for a Post Office *not* to take them back and refund, because they can be sold again. Heyesey
Can a swan's wing break a mans arm? Wing, no. Beak, possibly, if it lashes out hard enough. Highly unlikely though.
