willman Posted October 18, 2006 Share Posted October 18, 2006 the scenario is this - i transferred cash into my first direct account.i was then going to pay a cheques into daughters wedding slush fund to cover cheques issued on sunday at the wedding fair & venue deposit. amazingly the cheques have cleared today. so i reached for the FD cheque book to find no cheques & no replacement book(Grumble Number1). Oh dear thinks i (well a four letter expletive actually). anyhow FD will transfer the cash to a HSBCbank for me to collect this pm (apparently you cant do switch payments bank to bank).excellent customer service from the call centre. they then rang back saying that my local branch was ATM's only (grumble number2) however they have transferred it to Darnall. so excellent customer service, and it saves me getting a rocketing and bank charges. well done First Direct.
