New Donation Box in Asda for Cats Protection

How many of those people who give their hard-earned cash to saving poor little cats also donate money to help starving or abused children, victims of torture or homeless, destitute refugee humans?

I find it ridiculous that people donate to animal charities; there are humans out there suffering and their plight is often totally ignored.

Do you value the life of a cat above the life of a human? If so, then I think you are extremely confused and probably a little bit nuts.

As I go out and earn my money, I will supprt whatever charity i feel is most in need of my cash. Just because we put a tin of cat food in a collection once a week doesnt mean we dont donate to other charities which deal with human need.

far from it.

Perhaps because humans usually have the capacity to help themselves and the 'system' to support them, and cats (unless they are allowed to live feral which has its own welfare implications) are generally dependent on human generosity to ensure a fair quality of life.

Fair point.

I'm only expressing my opinion here and I think I'm probably going to get hounded (pardon the pun) off the forum for my next point, but in all honesty I'm not bothered about animals' 'rights' (there's no such thing) and until we put an end to human suffering I'm not that bothered about animal suffering.

However, I'm not cruel to animals and I take care of my sister's pet rabbit and often look after my boss' dog (with great care of course). I would go so far as to call myself an animal-liker, but I think human rights are more important than animal welfare.

I'm not advocating animal cruelty, I'm just wishing people would spend a little bit more time worrying about what people are doing to other people than what they're doing to animals.

Mainly because we have bred them to be dependant on us, so it's our fault they are now so feeble they would die without us.
