LoobyLou18
Now i don't want to particularly slate anyone here so i won't name names just yet, but i am registered with 2 local agencies and have been for 4 months now. When i first joined i was promised they would work for me in getting my CV out there and informing me of prospective vacancies that come up. I can honestly say in 4 months, nothing has happened not even an interview. But yet, i see them advertising jobs on the internet, so when i ring and say...please can you put me forward for so and so job...yep, no problem is their response but hey presto.....i hear nothing, yet again. So are they submitting my CV or are they just taking me for a ride? What i can't understand is,surely it's in their best interests to get me a job as they will make money in the long run? I'm confused.

I'm confused. Perhaps you don't have what employers want. Perhaps you have the wrong Agency. If they can make money out of you - they will make money out of you. That's how they exist, so something is wrong somewhere if you have been hanging around for four months. Maybe you need to obtain some better qualifications or re-train and change course completely. Sazza
Register with more agencies - there are TONS of them - and I bet they will all suddenly phone you up at once with job offers so you get to choose! This tends to be the way it works with temp jobs - a bit like busses...
Recruitguru
Loobylou18, Why not give me a chance. You may have heard this before, but I am different. PM if interested. Dave
kittencapes
I agree, when i needed a temping job i registered at every agency i could find, its hard going but suddenly some offers will come in! i don't reckon half the jobs they advertise in windows etc exist as when i asked about them i was fobbed off with 'oh that job just went'! BlueAngel
I use Office Angels they found me a job within 2 weeks and sent me on 7 interviews. I'd been hairdressing for 4 years and found it hard to get back into office work, Office Angels were really good and kept trying for me. Don't get me wrong some of the companies they sent me for an interview were awful but I found one I liked and 2 years later I'm still there. Why don't you give them ago. rachele
Try Serach recruitment They have a 'no bull****' policy and are extremely positive and helpful, I found.
