Multi-photo Mode when using a Canon Scanner - Help!

Hi all,

I am in the process of scanning in loads of photos.

When the window pops up to alter the scanning properties it offers me a 'multi-photo mode' option which scans multiple photos (obviously!) and then crops them all.

This would save me loads of time instead of scanning them all individually but when I have tried it, no matter what software I use, the photos only appear as one object so I can't format and save them all seperately.

Has anyone else used this facility and overcome it?

I would be really grateful for any helpful suggestions.

Thanks, Sally.

I have a Canon scanner, and have used this option once, but it's so long ago that I can't quite remember how.

But I do remember that you have to have your photos a certain distance apart, or it won't recognise them as separate images.

I've just looked at the help doc for mine, and it says:

"If the [Apply] button is clicked, the scanner automatically detects multiple items placed on the document glass of the scanner and reproduces the corresponding number of image files. If an item is slightly askew (less than a 10 degree tilt), then the image is automatically straightened."

Try putting multiple docs on there, and click Apply for multipage, then preview. You should get each image showing with its own dotted marquee line around it, which translates to separate images in your software. I did it successfully into Adobe Photoshop Elements that came with the scanner.
