xchubbs1987x
Ok so hear is my problem. I have a huge fear of deep water due to an incident that took place when i was younger. I would really love to learn to swim. I have absolutely no problem getting in a swimming pool, that isn't a task for me and i enjoy going in them. My family have really tried helping me to swim but as soon as i am free and have nothing to hold on to i panic like crazy. I have a genuine reason for having this phobia but it doesn't stop the embarrasment of myself at 19 years old being a nervous wreck when there are young children swimming like fish. Anyways enough of the babble, i was just wondering does anyone know if a hypnotist would help me conquer my phobia like they help people stop smoking etc. If anyone has had any experience of this i would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

medusa
I think there's every likelihood that hypnotherapy could help you with this- your panic is a learned response, and anything you learn you can unlearn. Actually more specifically, you can learn an alternative way to react in this situation. I wish you luck in getting yourself out of this, cos it doesn't sound like much fun being in it. Thanks Yes, I believe it could help. I couldnt imagine not being able to swim.Im frightened of certain things, but have found its all in the mind.A hynotists work is to relax you & get those fears out of your mind.Look in Yellow Pages.Could be expensive, but if you really want to learn how to swim,I cant see a better remedy than this. TwoFour
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) should sort this out for you in no time. Most Hypnotherapists will practise this as well as hypnosis. Good Luck
