Thinking of donating sperm, £50 a pop

Recommended Posts

I looked into this recently because of all stories in the news about fertility clinics not having any sperm. It's because a new law has taken away the right to donor anonymity. However, I've read this only applies to frozen sperm? so if "fresh" is used (the company sends a courier around your house to collect) then you can remain anonymous. Personally, I don't know if I would be able to deal with my biological children knocking at my door 18 yrs down the line and disagree with the law.

Anyway, you can donate 3 times a week for £50 pound a time. I might just.

1) I have heard this has led to a drop in donors due to fear of the CSA ( I have nothing to back this up with).

2) Courier turns up. "can you hold on please? I'm not quite ready yet!"

3) Am I the bloke thinking "£150 per week for 3 w*nks isn't bad going!" :hihi:

Just bear in mind that, by the time your donated children are 18, a law will very probably have been passed that DOES allow them to find you. The one passed recently (and I didn't know it only applied to frozen...) is retroactive - people who were guaranteed anonymity at the time they donated, have lost that guarantee.

Imagine if you donate once a week over a 10 year period and suddenly get a knock at the door to discover 100's of your biological children there on the doorstep (would have to be one massive doorstep btw).

You have to stop after you've fathered 10 children. A friend ( and I mean a friend - it wasn't me !!!) of mine donated for a couple of years whilst at university and had to stop after he fathered 10 kids. They will all be about 14 or 15 now, so its not long now !

There is a fertility clinic around the corner from the brincliffe oaks pub. I don't know if they still do it but I think they used to have a sperm donor unit in there. I think it used to be £10 per go.

However I heard about it on the radio once and I understand that you only get paid if the sperm is suitable for freezing, you have to abstain from things like coffee, smoking and alcohol for a day if you want it to work, and only 50% or something of men can produce sperm which is possible to freeze in the first place.
