taxman
Whenever I try to start Firefox I get a pop up dialogue that reads "Firefox is already running but is not responding. To open a new window you must first close the existing Firefox process or restart your system" I've restarted twice but I still get this dialogue box when I try to open Firefox. Help please!!! scarby
Try uninstalling it, then, re-installing it.
Ghozer
CTRL+ALT+DEL and look for "Firefox.exe" click it, and click End Task (bottom right) then see if it opens.. If it does, its something making it open on startup...

This works for me when I get this problem so worth giving it a try - have you looked in your startup directory or ran msconfig and looked to see if there is any reference to it in there? xircon
My firefox occasionally does this. A small stub of the program becomes trapped in memory, the ctrl+alt+del and end task should work everytime no need to re-install. Though the installer program probably kills the process off
