Koalasfriend
I've got my heart set on going to Sharm in the next few weeks. My boyfriend's friend has have given it a bad report and he's gone off the idea. I think it looks amazing and can't wait to go. But before I book anything I'd like to know if these reports are true. Any info would be helpful, Thank you.
Zamo
I went with the wife and two kids (now three) and it was great. If it is was just the two of us then it would have been even better as there is a lot to do like quad biking in the dessert, seeing the sun rise on Mount Sinai, camel riding and of course lots of diving and snorkelling. What didn't your boyfriends friend like about it?
GabbleRatcht
I've been many times. What do you want to go for as all it really has to offer is diving but the Egyptian bus service is really good. Sharm is really two towns. One tourist (Naama bay) and the traditional town seperated by about five miles, I think. Nice place but you may get bored if you don't dive. But if you like lying on a bed and sunbathing, great! Koalasfriend
They went as a couple and he said that a lot of people in their hotel came down with some type of food poisoning, but then again they stayed in a 3 star and we're hoping for a 4 star. Also, she said that she was gorped and shouted at by a lot of the men out there but when I was in Turkey it was a little like that but it's all harmless I think. Dicko
I went a few years ago. You will be blown away by the coral reefs. Also good value excursions like quad biking in the desert. I would definately go back.

Stomach bugs are par for the course in these countries I'm afraid. I lost a day to it but it could have been provoked by the poor wine (not cheap) and whiskey. GabbleRatcht
Yup, you are pretty much going to get a stomach bug at some point. Comes with your ticket! It's the only time I have litrally s*** the bed But don't let this put you off! BTW there is a great little town called Dahab an hour or so away by bus. Like hippy heaven on the sea front.
