FairyNormal
My 9 year old son has pretty severe OCD and anxiety disorder and is currently attending Shirle Hill Hospital 2 days a week for specialist help. I would recommend going back to your GP and stressing how worried you are. I would ask for a referal to your local CAMHS team (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) They can assess her properly and offer more specialist help. I will try and dig out some useful links later but have to go to work now. Hang in there !
LinDeb1952
I hope that shaz123's niece obtained some help for her fear of being sick. As a hypnotherapist I work with a lot of people with fears/phobias including this issue. Hypnotherapy can really help overcome these types of things. CAMHS in Barnsley has a member of staff who is also a qualified hypnotherapist. Otherwise would suggest they contact a local therapist with experience of working with children. Last year I worked with a student who had a fear of vomitting, fear of being too far away from a toilet and also a fear of germs. Two sessions helped her to get over these longstanding problems. shoo gal
I have never worked with a child with this, but I have this phobia too and have done for many years. It tends to come and go - when I haven't got things to worry about it comes back again. And around this time of year when all the bugs start popping up I get all anxious. PM me if you want any advice, I've had a lot of therapy and people with this phobia tend to follow the same avoidance and safety behaviours x
focusedhypno
I have a colleague called Garry Dunmore (http://www.hypnotherapysheffield.net). He does a lot of work with children and has had some fantastic results. I only help adults through hypnotherapy so if I ever have anyone approach me to help their child I always point them in Garry's direction.
