_Kirsty_
I have been going to the gym now for a few months and not only have i noticed im more toned etc, but im alot more chilled out than i used to be. I dont stress half as much as i used to (which used to be alot). I go to the gym 5 times a week and when i come out... i cant wait to get back in there again! Has anybody else noticed a change in their behaviour aswell as their body?
purdyamos
Not the gym for me, but the pool. For the last few months I've become worryingly addicted. I've been going every evening, but now I keep having to miss it because my social diary is so full at the moment! I was super-fit in my youth, then had a big patch of illness and obesity-causing medicine. Forcing yourself to do exercise in the early days is so hard. It feels so much effort. Now I've reached the stage where I'm so strong I don't even get out of breath. I swim a mile at a time and am one of the fastest in the pool. It's meditative too. Once I'm past the first 15 lengths I go into a sort of trance and the time goes really quickly. And I don't have to motivate myself to go, I can't wait to get there. The endorphins last through the evening. I wonder how it would affect my mood in the day if I went at 7 in the morning. Being more toned and trimmer makes me feel younger and sexier. Clothes hang better, etc. It all makes me feel more confident generally. I can still be a bad girl though! P.S. If anyone wants fresh air and exercise in great company, join us here. Jabberwocky
I used to use the gyms for bodybuilding so all i felt when i left them was weak-kneed and knackered. As for the changes in my bod... yes, the changes were more than worth all the work.

Guest
No it doesn't I stopped going to the gym because it made me feel crap! I understand you're supposed to get an adrenaline rush (or something) which is what makes you feel good after doing lots of exercise but I just feel knackered Otherwise I'd go back to the gym. martin1print
I'm with probedb. How does any regular gym participant cope with the mind blowing boredom of those wretched machines? Rowing machines, jogging machines, exercise bikes ... so boring, and having Robbie Williams blasting out on the monitors makes things even worse. My gym membership didn't last long. bensonhedges
I just went back to the gym this afternoon after 2 years or so of not going. Don't think I'm gonna feel great tomorrow - sore maybe?
