Avalon
Hi all You may have seen in the Sheffield Telegraph that (all being well) on 28th October there will be a steam hauled railtour to Deepcar from London. It will be a great oppotunity to see the old Woodhead line temporarily back to its former glory carrying steam passenger trains. The Don Valley Railway, who are trying to get the line reopened, have managed to get some publicity leaflets on the train, but why not check out our new website at http://www.donvalleyrailway.org

Avalon
Its interesting that they say "Stocksbridge Works" not "Deepcar", one wonders if they are running past Deepcar into the Exchange sidings and hook up a waiting loco for the trip home? It'll be top 'n' tailed with the diesel on the back of the rake to Deepcar which will then pull the return leg to King's Cross
