Heyesey
So you have forgot the "Millenium Dome" then. Selective memory. I think you'll find the Millennium Dome WAS built in London. Did you have a point?
Greenback
London's the only major city we have. Remember the millions that got wasted on trying to win the Olympics for Manchester, or Birmingham? Not a chance - it's London, or nowhere. What has the Olympics got to do with Wembley? Nothing. There's no reason why football's national stadium should have to be London-based, especially as most fans live outside the south-east.
hiyalove7
I know it has been a wait for the new Wembley but it will be the best stadium in Europe in my opinion so will be well worth the wait!

And the reason a national stadium has to be in London is, quite simply, because London is the only world-class city we have. I believe I said this already once, but apparently some people can't read. scottf
As a Rugby League fan, who has been to a few Challenge Cup Finals, I much prefer Millenium Stadium to Wembley. i presume you have been to the new wembley then?? The new wembley is going to make the MS look like a cow shed and it will be the best stadium in the world when its finished. all these delays will soon be forgotten once it opens! No, most fans DO live outside the south-east. There is no reason for a world-class building to be built in a city simply because it is a world-class city. Especially when the cost of doing so is obscene, and the building's exact location makes it extremely difficult to access. Only in Britain does such a backward notion hold currency. Bolero
As a Rugby League fan, who has been to a few Challenge Cup Finals, I much prefer Millenium Stadium to Wembley. Egg chasers have never really understood what makes a good stadium though. Wembley will **** on the Millenium Stadium.
Heyesey
No, most fans DO live outside the south-east. Considering that more than half the population of England lives in the southeast - you're wrong.
