Parking Charges-something I dont get

Recommended Posts

Why is it that u can park your car up in a pay and display carpark......pay for your ticket estimating the time youll get back......go back one hour early you get no refund......go back two minutes late and you get a sixty pounds fine....why is that?

It’s that way because the person who owns the car park makes the rules.

If you over-estimate they get to sell the space twice and if you under-estimate they get to charge you £60 for the extra 10 minutes. Life is good if you can load the dice in your own favour to that extent.

Car parks are a licence to print money. I’d love one in the middle of town. I’d sit in my little hut and watch as people queued up to give me money. When I got bored of that I’d pay someone else to do it while I took up golf.

I prefer car parks where you pay as you leave.

I'm sorry but if you cannot work this out, or are so dizzy that you cannot get return to your car in time, then you really shouldn't be driving.

Aargh....yet another poor soul who is so used to being cheated that he/she cannot question authority.I shall have to put the question to u in a simpler fashion.......why should I pay for something i aint getting. As for being so dizzy as to not return to my car on time......If I visit town I cannot anticipate to the minute what time will be spent on each function that I have to perform. I want my experience of visiting town to be relaxed and enjoyable.....why should it be ruined by the stress caused by having to rush around in order to enable me to get back to my car on time....so that some over zealoused sad Hitler like tosser doesnt slap a ticket on me.

Because thats the way it works. You are renting a space for an allocated period of time. It's your fault if you can't judge how long a time you need to rent it for.

The worst thing about the whole situation is the machines now where you have to put your car reg in first. So if you pay for 1 hour but are only 15 mins, you can't give the ticket to someone else coming in. Basically it is a license for the council to charge twice for the same parking space. It's discgraceful and something needs to be done about it.

Thanks.......finally someone will question the rights and wrongs of it....rather than say.....cos thats the way it works! If we never question anything...things will always stay the same.
