tess667
Just wondered if anyone else has used these and what your opinions were. Mr Tess and I went to London for the day on it yesterday, Not too bad, a few tiny niggles but I would happily use them again. The trip only cost £4.50 that was return for both of us!! Shiesh
Can you elaborate on the niggles???? Would you think it would be ok for families or would the train be less stressful???
tess667
They are nothing really. 1) The bus on the trip going down was basically an old dominator style, a H reg with very little leg room. That was my niggle there a lack of leg room. 2) On the return trip we were running a bit late to get back to the coach station in good time so we nipped to a McDonalds, got some food and then went to the bus stop. We were told quite rudely that hot food was not permitted and we would have to eat it before we got on. That in itself is fair enough but I feel it should have been advertised. We ended up stuffing the food in a rucksack, boarding the bus (Which I add was a rather nice comfy one with plenty of leg room and reclining seats) waiting for the bus to leave the bus station then stuffing our faces lol
Heyesey
Megabus is great, if you don't care about comfort and luxury and just want to go from A to B. Otherwise, stick to the train.
bigflesh
I would not be seen dead on it, getting on it or indeed getting off it. If anyone see's me on it, stop it, and shoot me in the head.

bigflesh
Can you elaborate on that please Bigflesh? tess, no I've not used the "Mega" bus and won't be doing. I'd rather walk... or jog... at a steady pace.

And on what basis do you draw that conclusion, if you've never used it? You don't like the bus's colour scheme?

Exactly heyesey, exactly, and I am not ashamed to admit it. I choose to arrive in style. But thats just me.
NPB!
As far as style goes the train wins hands down, but sometimes cheapness is the key. That being said, off-peak train tickets to London can be quite reasonable
