jules13
Remember me? Sorry I haven't been around much, nothing personal honest! I have been knitting though! I finished another one of those Zombie's last weekend for somebody and i've got to do 2 more for people too. I finished a sock so I've now got my 2nd pair! I like them, the 2nd of the pair looks better than the first though, more stripey. I finished one half of the 'Fetching' knitalong and should finish the 2nd one later today when hubby has gone to footy. I've started a new blog thing. I know a lot of people couldn't get on the other one, I don't know why though. So I've started another here have a look and see what you think. Its not a blogger one, a mac one (bought a new MacBook the other week). The next thing I want to try is this I found it while I was Stumbleing the other day. I've already got some of the Noro it says for a booga bag I haven't done yet! Are there any plans for an October knitalong?

turra21
Hi, Jules nice to hear from you again. Like the blog and have added it to my favourites. The noro space dyed yarn seems very popular at the moment. Which pattern did you use for your blue felted bag? I have an inkling to do some felting but don't like the booga bag too much. Could you post a link perhaps?
Guest
Hi Jules I'll add your new blog to the blog list in the recommended links section. Give me a prod if I haven't done it by the middle of next week . That's an excellent photo of the black Fetchings, by the way. You managed to capture the stitch definition, which is usually hellish to photograph in black yarn. I love the scarf pattern. I don't know about fish scales though - it looks like fish tails to me! It looks great in the Noro. As for an October knitalong, I haven't had any ideas as I've ben a bit preoccupied with college. Any ideas greatfully received. I'll start a thread about it. jules13
Thanks! I didn't think it was too bad to say I took it myself with my phone! I've started the scarf, but i'm not sure if i like it or not. Doesn't look as flat and smooth as the pic on the website. I've started it again 2 times I don't think i could face doing it again. I'm just going to post a pic on my blog again

I'm just going to post a pic on my blog again Don't worry about the flatness; unless the yarn is dodgy, you should be able to block any uneven-ness out of it. If you're worried about it, try blocking a little test swatch of the yarn knit up in the pattern, and see what it turns out like. I always find that anything vaguely lacey looks a bit off til it's blocked.
jules13
Right, I've just updated my blog, put a pic of the 2nd half of fetching on it and the scarf. If I block it, will it felt? Only asking that cos i bought the yarn for the booga bag and that was going to be felted...

There's a thread on here about blocking, which might be worth while searching for if you want the full details. If you do a wet block, you'd use cool water and be careful not to aggitate the fabric while it's in the water, and to handle the wet fabric gently. Alternatively, you could pin the scarf out while it's dry then spray it with cool water from a plant mister. That would avoid having to immerse it in water. jules13
I did think about getting something like a mister to wet it. Did you have a look? What did you think?
