Freebird
I've Just Been Talking To A Bloke In My Shop. He Told Me That Over The Last Few Days He's Been Charged 40p And 45p For Mars Bars (Standard Size) And Both Times He Declined The Purchase Complaining The Prices Were Too High. I Was Just Wondering What's The Most Anybody Has Paid For A Mars Bar,And How Much Would You Would Pay For One (Without Feeling Ripped Off),Bearing In Mind The RRP Is 35p. Personally I Think Anything Over That Is The RRP Is Retailers Greed At The Expense Of Customer Relations. If Somebody Leaves Your Shop Feeling They've Been Robbed They're Hardly Likely To Come Back Again. And Yes,Before Anyone Asks I DO Sell My Mars Bars At The RRP.
BobbyBunny
I'd pay 35p. Thats the RRP, and thats how much I'll pay. Nothing more (but maybe less ) I hate it when shop keepers sell things at elevated prices just because they know they're the only shop we can get to when we need a chocolate fix at 7pm. Reminds me of an exchange in The York in Broomhill: Customer: How much for 4 cans of lager Publican: £2.80 Customer: I can get them for £1.40 at the supermarket but they're closed. Publican: You can get them here for £1.40 when we're closed.
Heyesey
I don't see a complaint here. If you think the price is too high, you don't pay it; if everybody thinks that, the vendor doesn't sell any and has to lower his prices; if most people disagree with you, he sells them just fine and doesn't care whether you buy them or not. Sounds to me like the free market economy is working perfectly. I don't understand the point of the thread.

DaBouncer
I don't think £1 would be over priced for such a chocolatey treat which helps me work rest and play If anyone wants a Mars bar at this reasonable price of £1 please feel free to email me at dabouncer@mars.co.uk Mars bars = it's the future! chickywiggle
don't know abut mars bars but i know of a very elevated price shop that occurs quite frequently in town that sells bottles of coke (SMALL ones) for £1.19 - now COME ON most places sell emfor 95p - do many people ACTUALLY buy stuff from this shop with these prices??? i would normally pay anything up to 40p for a choccy bar - anything over that is just taking the mikey. wish toblerones would go down in prive tho - they are WAYYYYYYYY to expensive. Heyesey
The Point Of The Thread (And I Think I Mentioned It),Was To Ask How Much People Have Paid For One,And How Much Would Someone Pay For One Without Feeling Ripped Off. How could you possibly feel ripped off? If you thought the shop was overcharging, you wouldn't buy it; if you're prepared to buy it at that price because nowhere else is open, then you don't feel ripped off. Or at least, if you do, you're bloody stupid.
