Tiger_lily
Hi, hope this is in the right place to post this? The steering wheel on my car shakes when I go past about 60mph ish.. does anyone know what can cause this? I am not clued up on cars at all and I need to get it serviced about now but don't want to get fobbed/ripped off because I don't know what I'm talking about! Thanks in advance Oh and can anyone recommend a garage to get it serviced at a reasonable price? It's a Toyota Yaris.
BobbyBunny
I always thought that they were supposed to do that when you going faster than you should. I don't know though, I'm only a woman It might be something my parents taught me to stop me speeding when i eventually learn to drive
A_Partridge
It probabily means you need new front tyres.
Ally68
Sounds like you will have to get your wheels balanced or tracking checked. It shouldn't be too expensive to do.
saxon51
Have you had new front tyres fitted recently?

peterw
Hi its balancing...go to mb services on upwell street sheffield 4...ring ricky on 2432469....tell him boosh sent you he will do a cheaper price! The number of times I’ve heard that one is legend! Unless your are ‘boosh’ or his employer, the price’ll be what is always is but tiger_lily will think she’s got a bargain. WallBuilder
Balance and tracking would be my guesses as well. If it's tracking your front tyres will be wearing unevenly [going bald at the side] Both things are easy enough to do and if you get a quote that you're not sure about check it out by asking the forum. JoeP
Balance / tracking is the cause. When this first hapened to me many oons ago I ws on the motorway and I honestly thought the wheels were going to fall off. Shouldn't be desperately expensive. Joelc
Tracking and balancing should really be no more than £40, I'd be surprised if its any more than £25 really. Joel
