desy
Know it was some years ago but it was a friends birthday. Between 7.00pm and 10.30pm plus brinking up got it logged on a friend certificate when we got a Staff member from each pub we visited to sign it for his 21st. Schedule was a half in 36 pubs. We only managed 23 before he was left in a waste paper bin on the Moor. 6.57 pubs per hour round city centre all different. Method used first 2 drink up quick go onto next pub get order in go to back of line. Next 2 come in drink up go on to next pub etc. at one point drinks waiting in 4 pubs. Happy days
surfinjim
A late eighties/early nineties one I can remember. Half pint in each and a 6.30 kick off. Start off at Norfolk arms in Grenoside and then Bottom Red Lion. Bus to Wadsley Bridge and hit the dizzy heights of the White Horse, Railway, New Bridge Inn, Travellers and The Gate (Still sends shivers down my spine to admit had a drink in there, brief though it was). Then another bus to the Crown near the dog track. A walk down nostalgia lane then, to the Cambridge and then the Rose (both gone now). Then New Barrack Tavern (Scariest Ladies darts match I've ever seen), back to the Capel (Mason's) and then onto Langsett Road. Things are getting abit bleary now and as I recall it went something like, Mason's, Langsett, Burgoyne, Cuthbert, A N Other, George IV, and then the Cask and Cutler(Might still have been the Wellington). The plan was then to go up Shalesmoor, but severe wobbling forced us to the Fat Cat to finish the night on a couple of pints and a sit down. Can vaguely remember walking to Greasy Vera's, and getting home at around midnight ish. I'm sure I'll get corrected on some of the pubs, especially those on Langsett. skippy
We tried drinking our way to Rotherham from the Wicker, we could never get passed Attercliffe, that was back in the 60's, another run was up West St & back down Division St, if we made it, we would then go to the late night dance at the City Hall, bloody good memoies.
