feargal
I've got brown eyes, and I had a pair in a very bright green from my optician. They were OK for wearing for a couple of hours or so, but nowhere near as comfy as my non-coloured ones, so I couldn't wear them all day for some reason. At the risk of sounding like yer nan, definitely see an optician for them though - I've had horrible eye probs in the past from wearing ordinary contacts, and it's no fun. I wouldn't even consider buying "off the shelf"... it's too big a risk.

Titian
Years ago (back in the day when they cost £180!!) I had violet coloured contact lenses for a birthday present. They were soft lenses and although they were violet they didn't look obviously unatural. They were prescription lenses too. My first pair were the wrong fitting and one kept getting stuck behind my eye ,which made me look like David Bowie, so if you are going to have some it's probably better to have some that you know will fit, not just the bog standard, buy them off the shelf type ones as one size doesn't fit all. I eventually lost one of mine after a night out and attempting to remove them under the influence. I did find it the next day though...in shattered pieces on the floor. NEKRO138
I've had white ones and black ones. They didn't really look natural.
medusa
I used to have 2 pairs of coloured lenses- one to change my blue eyes brown (very natural looking and amazing how much of an image change it caused- had to change my makeup and everything to fit the change), and one pair of bright turquoise for when I wanted to get noticed (they were bright enough that people used to ask if I was Fremen). I never had any problem with them because I wore contact lenses daily anyway and had these fitted at an opticians to make sure that the investment was worth it and they were comfortable. People never commented on the brown ones (apart from family and close friends of course), but the turquoise ones got comments from everyone. The best response from people was when I was in one of those moods and wore one of each when I went to work in the York in Broomhill (I have a bit of a strange sense of humour at times and liked to watch people who didn't want to stare at my eyes try and order things at the bar). I'm not sure whether I'd recommend the ones that you buy without seeing an optician and having them fitted- I tend to think that my eyes are too precious to risk damaging them if I can avoid it. SatanInHeels
they have them in one of those little shops on the lanes in meadowhell and in shops such as rocky horrors and i think fuse in town.. cost about £20ish i think and can be used a few times i think but not after longer than 30 days. i bought some a couple of years ago from http://www.gothic.uk.com/acatalog/GOTHIC_FASHION_LENSES_203.htmlhad no problems with them although dont know if they have any 'natural' looking ones
KJ_VENOM
if its the first time you've worn contacts its best to see an optician to make sure they wont damage your eyes it cost me £15 for the check up and the optician i used also sold a range of coloured contacts

Cyclone
x_Sunshine_x do you actually wear contact lenses or have done previously? If you haven't I really wouldn't recommend you wear them just for a laugh. Contacts are really difficult to get in, if you are wearing them on a night out I can't imagine how difficult it would be to get them out when drunk! If you abuse them, even the soft lenses can cause permanent scarring to your eyes. One of mine once rolled itself up as I was taking it out and went right up to the top of my eye underneath the lid. I'm still not sure how I managed to force that back out! You must have particularly awkward ones. I only wear mind about once a week, but it only takes me 10 seconds to put in and I can definintely take them back out when pished. (Although I did lose one once doing that). I've fancied some coloured ones for a while, but I can't get them with my full prescription (astigmatism in both eyes), so i've never gone ahead and got any.
