Are there any groups or individuals who organise wild mushroom picking expeditions?

Met a chap on Saturday evening, he was just back from a funghi foray somewhere near Ladybower. He had found a huge 'cauliflower' something or other it was the size of a rugby ball, also two fantastic 'Ceps', the flat bits were the size of dinner plates. I was dreaming of them fried in some nice bacon fat......

Sheffield Wildlife Trust are running a Fungi workshop on Sunday 22nd October 11am to 1pm at Wyming Brook Nature Reserve.

Fungi - Friend or Foe

Wyming Brook is one of the most popular nature reserves due to its streamside paths, crag paths from which spectacular views can be enjoyed, and its easy-access driveway. The woods are birch, oak, larch and pine, so offer a range of bizarre and beautiful fungi to discover. Meet at Redmires Road car park at SK 269 859. No need to book in advance. Contact 0114 263 4335 for more info
