Grahame
I have just bought "Web Page 10" from Serif and apparently I need an ftp address to host my site. I have broadband from Orange but I don't seem to be able to upload to it. I'm really looking for a company who offers free hosting, have you any advice please? alkatraz
http://site is what people use to view the site. the ftp address (ftp://) is what you give to your FTP program to upload the site. This may be different from your http address and you must ask Orange what it is.
esme
Orange should have included these details in some sort of welcome pack when you signed up with them really, but I found these pages on their website that may be useful how do I upload my files to my site how do I get a domain for my site
troyhark
http://the ftp address (ftp://) is what you give to your FTP program to upload the site. This may be different from your http address and you must ask Orange what it is. Not always - I have websites hosted in two places. One is with my internet provide, Blueyonder and one is with 1and1. To upload via ftp[which means file transfer protocol] to Blueyonder I do so via an FTP address. ftp.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk and fill in my password and login. With 1+1 you use URL of the website, i.e.http://www.mysite.com and fill in my password and login. So how you upload via ftp depends on who is hosting your site. With both you also say which folder on your hosting space you will use for any particular site.

Seriously take a look at their help section it is all on there and will be able to provide you with more information and instructions than we can explain to you. Well I have to admit I RTM with 1+1 and it was very hard to find out one bit of info, i.e. which bits of data went where, in the FTP section of Dreamweaver. I gave up looking on manual and on website and ended up ringing tech support. 1+1 not using FTP addresses for FTPing, was the bit that caught me out. It's actually easier to do - once you realise it's different.
Grahame
I don't know if this will help me, but I went into Sheffield today and came back with Mozilla 1.7.11 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.11) Gecko/20050728 It has composer in it. Problem is, it's more than 4 weeks old. I don't think that is good enough, do you?
