cris71
Hi, I know you normally plant Swiss chard in spring, but do you know if you can plant it now for winter use? I am planning to grow it in a container, possibly inside a greenhouse if I get round to making one. My garden is quite sheltered and sunny. Can you recommend any variety that is particularly suitable for this time of the year?
Tracie
Did you decide to go ahead and try the chard under glass, cris71? I don't have any experience of growing swiss chard at all, but I had a look through some of the books I have here and the general consensus seemed to be that it's quite susceptible to frost. I reckon it would be worth trying it in a greenhouse, though.
