nik1 Posted October 7, 2006 Share Posted October 7, 2006 well there are two schools of thought on this, i think it depends what you want to do with your instrument but i know from experience that if you want enough theory knowledge to break down a complex piece of music or you want to study harmony in any detail etc. etc. then the learning process is much much quicker with some guidance from a good teacher. however if you just wanna jam a bit and maybe write some simple songs then just choose a book carefully and play your instrument plenty!
