pippadoll
Drove past on Saturday and they looked open, but maybe only a trial run. What we really need in Broomhill/Crookes is a good quality noodle bar, not another Italian. Three in Crookes, three in Broomhill. It is rather boring and not good for other established businesses. Why is their such little imagination. Crookes / Broomhill have six chinese take-aways; six indian takeaways/restaurants. Come on budding entrepreneurs sort yourselves out. Also no juice bar around. Although thanks to Remo we have superb coffee.
Katya
Just phoned them and they say they're open. Am planning to go for lunch later on this week and will report back. Agree that it would be great if we had more variety in Broomhill, especially as Bah Naan is likely to close down soon.
Ousetunes
Went with the wife for lunch yesterday (27th September). Nice to walk in and hear Barber's Adagio For Strings. The place is quite large (larger than when it was a beer-off; maybe they've extended at the rear?). Apart from a photographer we were the only people there (but it was 12.30pm). The menu isn't huge although the wine list is very impressive. Foodwise, it's pretty much what you'd expect: pasta, pizza, steak, fish and salads. I had a pizza and it was very nice. My wife had lasagne but said it could have done with a bloomer of bread or a side salad. Chips are classed as extras so watch out for that. Tastewise, very impressive. The staff were attentive and the service was quick. Which is a good thing as our council decided we cannot park our cars in Broomhill for longer than an hour (this could have quite an effect on daytime trade for all restaurants in the region). I had two pints of incredibly nice lager, albeit it @ £4.50 a pint (does that make it the most expensive pint in Sheffield?). They omitted one from the bill but being so nice I told them they'd missed it off. For the two of us the bill came to £30. Next time I shall try the wine list which will double that price. I'd give it between 8 and 9 out of ten. Maybe at night with candlelight and with no car to worry about, it would be a 9 out of ten. We'll be back. shoegal
Hi am I right that there's a new Italian (?) restaurant in Broomhill? Where the off licence was opposite Nibbles pizza/just down from Thyme Cafe? Has anyone been? Can you tell me what the food was like and how expensive it was? Cheers Shoegal
