chefkicker
Congratulations are in order to Mark "The Monkey" Bottom who teaches for Royce Gracie Ju Jitsu for winning his second Mixed Martial Arts fight by submission in the 2nd Round. Mark had a very hard fight with this guy from Hull who was trained by a BJJ expert from Brazil. The opponent almost strangled the life out of Mark using a triangle and slammed him to the canvas a few times until he turned the tables and tapped him out!!! Mark also weighed in at a very trim 88kg!!! Not bad considering he first weighed in at 100kg when he walked into AFK for his first kickboxing lesson. Mark teaches BJJ at Graves Tennis and Leisure on wednesday and Dronfield on Monday. He does his kickboxing striking training at AFK too! LankymanBJJ fought on the same show and lasted the distance of 2 rounds of 5 minutes against the more experienced heap of muscle "Craig Lawrence" from Doncaster. LankymanBJJ trains in BJJ at Mark Bottoms club and also does his stand up at AFK. Well done to both guys see you both on Friday. It was also nice to sit and chat to other forumers such as Barragergus and commentate alongside TrueBJJ. Great night out, nice to be at a show as a spectator instead of a judge/referee/cornerman or promoter. Kepp it up guys!

chefkicker
A hearty pat on the back is also due to Ben Pollard of the Paul Powers SDF gym. Ben Pollard competed in an MMA bout on the same card and came to his fight straight from a wedding and after finishing fighting went straight back to his wedding!!! Crazy if you ask me but that seems like Ben's style LOL. Ben is a very jolly guy with a lot of heart who seems like the kind of guy who is spontaneous and up for anything. One of those who is always up for a laugh it seems. Well done Ben and it was great to meet you.
