Some people on here seems to think is not such a good idea, what do you think? I hope i'll never have to use it on anyone, maybe just for a bit of fun and fitness...? donuticus
There is a kickboxing gym just round the corner from corporation nightclub. I think Shefkicker is the person to pm about it as I think its his gym.
Cyclone
if you actually want to be capable of using what you're taught then you need to make a long term comittment to learning it. It's not something you learn in 6 weeks or 12 weeks.
Lester_Bigot
Do these Clubs allow people with a Moustache to train? This Moustache rule applies to both men and Women?
chefkicker
Hi everyone Yes it is the gym on wellington street round the corner from corporation where I teach kickboxing classes. Bang in the middle of the town centre. As for moustaches, we dont have any women with moustaches we have a guy called pete who has a moustache mind you but thats it i guess. chefkicker
is this gym women friendly? Also, i've never done anything like that before.. What does it involve? Women friendly? We also have a womens only class and also have a female Black belt who is treated with the same respect as our top fighters by everyone in the gym. The fact that she (and many other girls) have been provided with the same opportunities to achieve the best they can proves our level of "women friendliness". Generally a session consists of : * warm up = skipping , llight stretch, followed by "dynamic/ballistic" stretching (proved to be safer for you by sports scientists than conventional stretches.) * Technique work = learning how to stand followed by basic boxing, kicking and use of the knee and elbow in self defence situations. * Padwork = using the punches/kicks you have learned at full power *Bagwork = The gym has a speedball a ceiling to floor ball a mazie ball and 7 other punch bags. You will then be doing punching drills against the bags or a bagwork circuit * Partner training = This involves practising defensive techniques with a partner If time allows there is also a circuit if people arent sweating enough The circuit happens mainly in Mark Howarths Thursday class.
