nigsmig
when i wer younger i worked with a white lad who came from trinidad so he naturally had a caribean accent. once whilst stood at a bus stop he gave a uk born black lad a lesson on how to 'talk black'. does it really matter what accent or dialect you choose to use so long as you can communicate? Zebra
does it really matter what accent or dialect you choose to use so long as you can communicate? Yes it matters, these people are creating an identity and an attitude based on a cultural development. Often certain types of black people are regarded as 'hard' and more interesting etc etc but the gangster hardman untouchable ident is something we should actively discourage. We don't want our neighbourhoods to become mini Bronx's, I don't want drive by shootings based on this kind of mistaken tribal ident. These people are foolish and admire the origins of the traits because they wish to rebel, to be cool and untouchable. In fact it could be an image perpetuated by rap music and it's alleged origins. It needs stamping out before it gets out of hand because it will affect us all eventually.

No, it doesnt matter what accent you have but if your born and raised in Liverpool for example were the 'Scouse Accent' is more predominatley spoken then surely you are more likely to have a 'Scouse Accent' than a Jamaican or Ghetto Bronx type accent ? I am curious to know why this isn't always the case ?
