cgksheff
It just means that it is a light passenger vehicle of an approved design ......... = a "car"! http://www.vca.gov.uk/vehicletype/faqs-type-approval.asp
Darbees
Anyone know what this means ? I have checked out a vehicle I am considering buying, under the type approval its says M1.... Thanks jan2002 How come that is an issue? Usually if type approval is mentioned it is because the car has been privately imported from another country and has to be type approved here to get it registered. If that is the case you need to check things out because some of these cars are different specification to the ones available in the UK market and there might be problems with spare parts. cgksheff
Other circumstances involving Type Approval are 'Self-Builds' and 'Conversions'.
Aamer
If the car is an imported vehicle and is more than 10 years old, then the type approval in not applicable. Contact the DVLA they will explain everything.
