avid_merrion
Just recieved a penalty charge notice of £100 because I never paid the congestion charge of £8.00 before the 24 hour timeline. What a load of feces. Say's I can pay £50.00 if I pay within 14 days :loopy: or face a charge of £150.00 if not paid within 28 days. Do they honestly think they are going to get it? I will await the court order.
Agent Orange
Isn't it Capita that are responsible for the collection of Congestion Revenue?! If so, you find they are incompetent numpties incapable of tying their own shoe laces let alone the implementation and collection of revenue on this scale. And that's why I get the train!! RichC
Do you mean you didn't pay the congestion fee in advance, or that you went to London, avoided the fee, and then got caught and given 24 hours to pay it and you didn't?
avid_merrion
Do you mean you didn't pay the congestion fee in advance, or that you went to London, avoided the fee, and then got caught and given 24 hours to pay it and you didn't? Ive been to London loads of times just avoided the congestion zones. This time I had to use the zone and had full intentions of paying the £8 within 30 day which is usually the case. But this is unaceptable you have to pay no matter what before midnight the following day
RichC
In that case I fully agree that it's stupid - they should at least have warned you first.
KenH
I have never heard of the congestion charge until today and I had no idea that travelling through central London meant I had to pay a charge or I would be fined. You won't hear from me for a while now as I am going back to my cave where I have been without television, radio, newspapers or any conversation with another human being for ten years. I knew i was going in there I just didnt expect the charge had to be paid so bloody soon. They should have huge posters up as you enter london telling you that you have untill midnight tomorrow to pay or face a fine of up to £150.
