Why all the Police around Bramall Lane 21/9/06?

Recommended Posts

But today they seemed to be stopping people at random. A copper on a pushbike was just waving people in to be checked. Why should some legally abiding citizen be pulled for no reason. This HAS happened to me in the past for having a nice car and being young.

What would you have done if someone else had been driving your nice new shiny car that morning, without your knowledge and the Police had let them straight past?

I've said this before but the Police are in a lose, lose situation with most of the general public, when they don't do somthin we moan, when they do somthjing we moan, why can't people just be on one side of the fence?

And the best way to combat this is to pull a law abiding citizen on the off chance. Hello to a police state

Probably part of Impact

They (supposedly) use ANPR, so you shouldn't get pulled unless you've got out of date tax/known offender/dodgy vehicle etc.

If it makes life a bit harder for criminals, I'm in favour.

Iwondered this, but I stood near and watched the copper, he just seemed to be waving them in randomly. I could also hear his radio

I approve totally with the ANPR you mention.

Seems to fit - normally there is an officer in a van with the ANPR kit, who radios ahead to someone else telling them which ones to pull over.

It's quite funny in a way, because the ANPR van looks like a speed camera van. The criminal slows down, thinks "ha, didn't get me", then gets pulled over and done for something else :D
