Hayley1
Or rather my 3 yr old is disappointed, that in Wisewood there seems to be no play-park. My youngest lad wanted to explore our new surroundings this morning, and while out on our jaunt, I approached a group of friendly mums at the gates of Wisewood school today, and asked them where the nearest park was. I was appalled to discover that the nearest was Hillsborough park! Please tell me this isn't so? are the parks around sheffield really that few and far between? Do the people of Wisewood not mind they don't have a local park? I hate to harp on about where I came from etc, but we had loads of parks, we had two with 5 mins walk of our home, and a fair few further afield. I think maybe in a mile radius, there would be abt 6 that I can think of off the top of my head. This cannot be true surely? is the council really not thinking of our tots? dizzy_chick
There is Rivelin Valley nearby and I think there is some play facilities near the new cafe (?). My friends is on maternity leave at the moment and there appears to be very little for young children in Wisewood.
kittenta
I come from Wisewood don't live there now but the local park behind the old folks home was repeatedly vandalised so they decided not to mend it again. There was a footy pitch and bmx track last time I went but that was about a year ago. My little brother stills hangs around in that park, haven't a clue why
Danielblythe
There's one up the road at Loxley, up behind Archer Gate. It's not great, but it does at least have some swings.

Is that the one on Loxley Road? If it is I think the swings were removed over 5 years ago as it became a drinking haunt for teenagers at night.
