Accommodation in Paris??

Recommended Posts

You may want to consult Lizzmobile, she knows a great place. Failing that the novotel in Cergy Pontoise is comfortable and 5 mins from the centre (walking distance)

I am not 100% certain but I think you have your Novotes mixed up. Cergy Pontoise is outside of Paris and takes about 20-30 minutes on the train. The station where you get off the train has another Novotel close by and this is near the centre.

You could be right there KenH, in fact don't stay at the one at Cergy Pontoise as the memory is coming back to me, I think I actually named it something along the lines of Cergy Pontarmpit of Paris. Yes it will be the nearer one.

Why oh why did I visit Cergy Pontoise???

The reason I remember is that I flew into Pointoise and then got a train to Paris and stayed at nice Novotel. On my return trip I caught a train to Cergy and then couldn't find a taxi to the airport so I walked to a novotel not far from the station and asked them to find me one. I think the one I stayed at was "Paris La Defence" which was nice and quite cheap. I have stayed dozens of novotels in France over the years and, while they aren't exactly fabulous, you know what you will get and they can be very cheap.
