Recover data from 2nd formatted h/d

i've had to format a drive which had tonnes of photos on, programs, web links....

why didn't you save the stuff before you formatted??

you could try RESTORATION or PC Inspector, but as you've formatted i wouldn't hold out much hope... might have to go to a specialist if you really, really want the stuff back.

First off, don't use the formatted drive! Stop using it and disconnect it from your computer.

The more the drive is used, the more there is the possibility that the area's of the disk where the old files used to be will be overwritten with new files. Once that happens, you're talking about sending your hard disk off to a professional data recovery firm...

...Talking of which, an org I used to work for sends hard drives off to Ontrack (if the client's were willing to pay serious money to get their files back). See http://www.ontrack.co.uk

Ontrack do sell their own 'do-it-yourself' data recovery software. For example, EasyRecovery Professional costs £386 and has a 'Format Recovery' feature that will recover files from a formatted volume. Ontrack sell cheaper 'do-it-yourself' software, but they may not have the 'Format Recovery' feature.

If you'd like me to have a go at recovering your data (for a charge, if successful), send me a PM with your contact details.

Oh, and you can only recover data files (picture files, music files, Word documents etc). It's a waste of time recovering 'programs' as the recovered files can't be used to install the software again onto another computer or hard disk.
