LoopyLou
The problem: My mum parked her car on the side of the road and some numpty backed into it. Mum claimed on her car insurance, but was told the quote for the repair (£1500) costs more than the car (£500-£1000) - so tough luck. Initially they were going to write it off - but have now said she can have £450 for it - so that she can keep it and pay for the repairs herself. The car has a small dent above the wheelarch, has been passed roadworthy, so just looking for someone to put a second-hand panel on and give it a spray of paint.... do you know someone (and would recommend them) who may be interested in this bit of work. Cheers.....
hockeybear
Hi I don't know if any reputable garage would fit a second hand panel because it would cost more in labour taking it off of the scrap car, spraying it to match your mums car then fitting it. If it is only a dent maybe it could be pulled out then filled ? Phone Mark at MH Motors ,rear 351 Loxley road. Tel 2349581. I work in the same yard as Mark and he does a good job, a damn site cheaper than the big garages. Dave..

tony2311
if the car is not worth much why not just drive it as it is and pocket the £££ for your next car ?
